Grandma’s in a Rocketship
Blast off on a journey through a child’s imagination as he tries to make sense of a death in the family.
When Charlie attends his grandma’s funeral, he can’t quite grasp what’s happening — specifically, why she would be lying in a box. But then, it hits him: grandma’s in no ordinary box! He imagines she’s off on a grand adventure through space, cruising the cosmos in a rocketship, hosting an underwater dinner party in a submarine, and more.
But, eventually, Charlie’s world of wonder gently collides with the loving wisdom of his mother, who helps him understand that death, as painful as it can be, is part of life’s beautiful, ongoing story.
Created for children but resonating deeply with adults, Grandma’s in a Rocketship is a tender, imaginative exploration of grief, love, and letting go — told with warmth, humor, and deep emotional care.
