Grandma’s in a Rocketship
Blast off on a journey through a child’s imagination as he tries to make sense of a death in the family.
When Charlie attends his grandma’s funeral, he can’t quite grasp what’s happening — specifically, why she would be lying in a box. But then, it hits him: grandma’s in no ordinary box! His imagination transforms it: a rocketship blasting through the stars, a submarine gliding to an underwater dinner party, and more.
But, eventually, Charlie’s world of wonder gently collides with the loving wisdom of his mother, who helps him understand that death, as painful as it can be, is part of life’s beautiful and ongoing story.
Created for children but resonating deeply with adults, Grandma’s in a Rocketship is a tender, imaginative exploration of grief, love, and letting go — told with warmth, humor, and deep emotional care.
